At SpecialEyes, all the customer service representatives are continuously learning methods for fitting custom soft toric contact lenses and evolving the SpecialEyes experience. What a better way to retain information than having a little friendly competition in the office? A few months ago, I was the lucky winner! My prize was a brand new, head-to-toe work outfit. How fun!! Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, a week before the big shopping day, I was told that I was going to be attending the Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas, NV.
For a fashionista, like myself, I was eager to spend an afternoon away from designing custom soft toric, sphere, and multifocal contact lenses and find the perfect look for Vegas! So off to the mall we went. After hitting some of my favorite stores, I managed to walk out with a great new suit. And when they said head to toe, they meant it. The outfit wasn’t complete until I turned the corner and saw the perfect pair of shoes.
Before I knew it, it was time to pack my bags, leave the office, and head to the airport. I was nervous, not only was it my very first conference with SpecialEyes, I had also never been to Las Vegas. When my plane landed, I was exhausted, yet relieved to see that the other team members were there to give me a warm welcome.
After a good night’s sleep, Michelle, Lindsay, Staci and I (all looking fabulous, might I add) headed to the Rio Convention Center where the 2014 Global Specialty Lens Symposium was held. Before heading to the booth, I had the opportunity to sit in on some educational sessions, which I found extremely beneficial. It was a great experience to hear industry professionals support the use custom contact lenses. During my time at the booth, I had the pleasure of meeting many industry professionals. The fond comments regarding the performance of SpecialEyes Custom Soft Contacts Lenses and our excellent customer service made me proud to be a part of the team.
The city of Vegas is fabulous and always buzzing with interesting people. The best part of the Global Specialty Lens Symposium was attending our annual wine event. I loved having the opportunity to celebrate and show appreciation to our account holders. I was able to establish some excellent professional relationships. Finally after all this time, I have some faces to match with the voices I speak to on a daily basis.
